Deleting is permanent. Your collection, cards, Living Stickers and progress cannot be restored afterwards — not by you and not by us. If you only want to stop playing, signing out leaves your account intact.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account removes the PawCatch account itself and the data attached to it:
- your profile — username, friend code, avatar and account settings;
- your catches and cards, including the private pet cutout images stored for them;
- your Living Stickers and any generated animation frames;
- progress, XP, coins, treats, rewards, streaks, cosmetics and leaderboard entries;
- friendships, friend requests and blocks;
- trade and gift records that are still open;
- reports you submitted and their moderation records;
- map pins;
- notification tokens and delivery records; and
- analytics data linked to your account, where product analytics was switched on.
Everything PawCatch stores on the device itself — your local collection, cutouts, camera cache, progress, queued changes and preferences — is removed at the same time. The app also attempts to revoke its Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In authorization; if that cannot be completed automatically, you can remove PawCatch from your Apple Account or Google Account settings.
If you played as a guest
Guest play never creates a cloud account, so there is nothing on our servers to delete. Choosing Delete Account in the app erases the local PawCatch data described above, and uninstalling the app removes what is left. There is no need to email us.
What is kept, and why
A few things survive deletion, because they are no longer ours alone to erase:
- Completed trades and gifts. A card you traded away now belongs to another player and stays in their collection. Completed transfers are not reversed.
- Purchase records. Apple and Google keep their own record of App Store and Google Play purchases under their policies. We cannot delete those, and we need our own minimal purchase record for tax, accounting and refund handling for as long as the law requires.
- Encrypted backups. Copies of the database may persist in routine encrypted backups after your account is gone. They are not used for anything else and disappear as those backups age out on their normal rotation.
- Safety and fraud records. Where a report, ban or abuse investigation involved your account, a minimal record may be kept so the same problem cannot simply be repeated. It is kept only as long as needed for that purpose.
None of the retained records are used for a new, unrelated purpose.
How long it takes
Deletion started inside the app takes effect immediately. Email requests are completed within 30 days of us confirming the account is yours, and usually much sooner. Backup copies then age out on their normal rotation as described above.
Email [email protected] if anything above is unclear, or if you asked for deletion and have not heard back. The full detail on what PawCatch stores and why lives in the Privacy Policy.
